They tell me
I bear an eerie resemblance
to Snow White.
Skin white as snow
lips red as blood
and hair black as ebony--
I die the same way;
they hand me the forbidden fruit
and I choke
upon their betrayal.
They ride off into
their black cyclones
until the legs
of their high horses
buckle beneath the curse
of their self-righteousness
